I am a painter based in Bristol, happy to travel for work.
Primarily, I am a scenic artist: I work to paint scenery for theatre, films, TV and festivals.
This work often involves working to a set designer's vision to scale up their design and solve creative problems.
I pursued theatre design prior to studying for a Masters in Scenic Art with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, so am sympathetic to the needs and journey of a set designer, and am at home in the theatre world. This background has equipped me with a real eye for detail, understanding of precision and techniques, which I've been able to carry with me into the fast paced world of TV and film.
I paint indoor and outdoor murals, having been commissioned to paint a few large public-facing pieces in Bristol and Plymouth. I've done several colourful shutters as well as smaller domestic works which I design to a client's brief. I hold PLI and a cherry picker/scissor lift licence.
The variation of my work as a freelance painter really excites me. Outside of work, I'm always creating something. I also take on private commissions and am always open to new challenges and collaborations.
I have a studio space in St Andrew's, Bristol.
